Solid sterling silver salmon ring called "Coho Crossover". Symbolic of the life cycle of the Northwest salmon. Salmon are anadromous, meaning they are born in freshwater, live most of their lives in salt water and then migrate back to the freshwater they were born in. Salmon are a keystone species-a species upon which many other animals depend- because they provide nutrients to the river and surrounding area where they spawn and die and are also a major source of food for other species such as killer whales and bears. Salmon have run in Northwest waters since before history but now their stocks are dwindling due to dams, over-fishing and habitat destruction. Ring is approximately 8 mm wide at the top. Available in most finger sizes by the quarter size. Design by Paul Wagner.
